quick chocolate cake
When the sudden need for something warm and chocolatey arises, It’s good to have a simple recipe off the top of your head that you can just whip up. I’m a big fan of “equal parts” recipes, and this is one of them. the beauty of this is that it will work with a wide variety of ratios so you can adjust to your liking, but know that “equal parts” will be a safe place to start.
Simply melt the butter and chocolate, whisk the sugar and eggs with a pinch of salt. (in this case i made a small cake and used just one egg, with 50g of everything else) Mix everything together and bake at 350F until the edges are set but the center is still molten. This should take 10 to 20 minutes depending on the size of your cake. It should puff up a little, then fall down as it cools. But don’t worry, this is part of the charm of it.
I don’t actually know if this qualifies as a cake, but whatever it is, it’s delicious.
